Every veterinary center has its limits. These limits are not set by walls or equipment, but by people — the ones who know how to heal. At the Pitomets center, four future veterinarians are already working today: they assist during appointments, in the inpatient ward, and in the operating room, gaining experience alongside mentors while simultaneously pursuing higher education. In a few years, they will be the ones standing at the operating table as independent doctors.
For young people who have already chosen the challenging path of working with homeless animals, paying for their education becomes a serious burden. If any of them drop out halfway, the center risks losing specialists who will be difficult to replace. Moreover, higher education for veterinarians is quite rare. Most stop at college, as it is easier and faster, but it is university that provides more practical skills and specialized knowledge.
Investing in education is a case where help will make a difference for years to come. The skills acquired within university walls stay with these doctors throughout their careers and translate into thousands of animals healed over the years.
Right now, the foundation is raising funds to pay for a semester of education for the four future veterinarians at the Pitomets center. Help nurture those who will be saving furry friends for many years to come.
