At the shelter, where hundreds of animals live under one roof, cleanliness is a matter of health. While some animals are recovering from surgery and others are still awaiting a diagnosis, any infection that gets inside can spread throughout all the wards in a matter of days and even sicken those who were already on the mend. Strict sanitary protocols are essential for keeping diseases at bay.

And these protocols rely on the most basic supplies: disinfectant solutions, disinfectant mats at the entrance, and wipes for cleaning surfaces. With so many animals, these supplies run out quickly, and we need to constantly restock them.

Thanks to your donations, the center has purchased disinfectants and cleaning supplies. These are the things that quietly protect our animals every day: they prevent infections from turning a recovered animal back into a sick one and safeguard those who have just been brought in from the streets. Cleanliness at the animal shelter is a matter of health and survival. When hundreds of weakened animals rescued from the streets live under one roof — some recovering from surgery while others await diagnosis and treatment — it is essential to maintain order in the kennels. A single undetected infection can spread throughout the entire facility in a matter of days and endanger even those who were already on the mend. Viruses, bacteria, and fungi are invisible but ever-present in any shelter, and the only thing preventing their spread is strict sanitation protocols.

Disinfectants, special entrance mats, surface wipes, and cleaning buckets — all of these items run out very quickly when dealing with large numbers of animals. This isn’t the most obvious expense, but it’s precisely this one that quietly saves lives every day. Without regular disinfection, even the most competent treatment becomes meaningless: a cured animal risks becoming infected again before it can find a home.
