Inessa needs research to find a compatible bone marrow donor before transplantation

Inessa has always been involved in sports. She went to gymnastics and synchronized swimming, and after the birth of her son she took up yoga and pilates. She was in good shape, felt great and did not think about serious illnesses.

In 2022, Inessa was prescribed antibiotic treatment after a minor elective surgery. Standard therapy led to serious complications. Inessa was admitted to the hospital with acute kidney damage, she underwent hemodialysis and was transferred to the hematology department. After additional examinations, she was diagnosed with a severe blood disease, myelodysplastic syndrome.

Inessa underwent four courses of chemotherapy. But medication alone cannot cope with the disease. Inessa needs a bone marrow transplant. Doctors need to do special HLA typing to find a compatible donor. The tests are not covered by insurance, so they have to be paid for.
