Fatima Umalatova from Makhachkala was born with an atrial septal defect. At first, the hole was 8.5 mm, and then it completely increased to 1 centimeter. Doctors insisted on the surgery, but this required an occluder. The occluder is like a small umbrella. It is introduced through the vessel in a folded form and straightens out, permanently closing the defect. A half-hour procedure - and the heart is healthy. The only problem - the occluder is very expensive and is not covered by the Obligatory medical insurance policy policy state. The Umalatovs simply did not have the required amount.

“I didn’t even hope that it would happen so soon. The surgery went well. Discharged on the second day. Fatima quickly got to her feet, is already playing and laughing", - writes mom.

She gets tired quickly and gets sick more often than other children. It is because of a congenital heart disorder. In the child's medical record it is written - atrial septal defect. At first the hole in her heart was 8.5 mm, then it was reduced to 5 mm, and now there is a hole of 1 cm. Such a hole in a small "motor" as large as a baby's fist! If Fatima does not get a special occlusion device in her heart, she will get worse.
