But thanks to the surgery, his hearing will be restored and his auditory canals and ears will be formed. This is exactly the kind of surgery that Arsenia and I have been raising funds for. Arseniy and his parents, as well as the team of our foundation, heartily thank you for your assistance to Arseniy. You have given the boy a new life. Arseniy needs a complex operation

Arseniy Drachuk was born with congenital defects of heart and hearing organs. By the age of three, epilepsy appeared. Arseniy is now 10 years old.

The heart defect was diagnosed when the mother was still pregnant, and the family was ready for it. But when Arseniy was born, he didn't have ears yet, his ears were small and deformed. It took him a year to fix a heart defect. There were times when Arseniy's life was in grave danger. But the professionalism of doctors, the care of parents and the child's desire for life helped to overcome all difficult moments. The heart problem was temporarily resolved.

Now Arseniy needs help in correcting her hearing pathology. Arseniy practically hears nothing, speech is not very well developed because of this, information is hardly perceived by him. Over time, he may remain completely deaf. At the moment, the only salvation is hearing aids with bone conduction. But with it, too, the child is disoriented in space, and the danger can wait for him at any time. Arseniy is a schoolboy. As hearing aids can not fully replace the human ear, there are problems with performance, with the focus on the material under study, with communication. And also deformed ears are perceived by people as a face defect. The quality of the boy's life is falling.

There are 2 methods to treat these pathologies of the hearing organs. The first is modeling the ears from the patient's cartilage (a rib fragment is taken). This method provides multistage recovery with several complicated operations, in which hearing is restored in single cases.

The second technique consists of modeling the ears from an artificial material. This technique requires only one ear operation, during which the auditory canal is formed, middle ear pathologies are corrected and the auricle is simulated. And most importantly, hearing comes back! The operation is much less traumatic and the postoperative period is much easier.

The key point in choosing a technique was to focus on fewer anesthesia. Due to heart diseases for the Arseniy body, multiple deep anesthesia is too destructive and dangerous. Therefore it is necessary to correct the pathology of the hearing organs with the second method.
