All her life Alsina has worked by vocation - as a kindergarten teacher. But in recent years, due to illness, she had to give up her favorite business. "I can't work, I can't sleep, I can't live normally. Treatment doesn't work - I get worse every day," says the woman.
Alsina has congenital immunodeficiency - a rare genetic breakdown that makes the body defenseless against infections. Constant pneumonias, maxillary sinusitis, boils and abscesses all over her body are just a small part of what the woman has to live with.
To cope with the complications, Alsina needs an expensive genetic analysis - it will show exactly in which gene there was a breakdown. This information will allow doctors to choose an effective and safe therapy.
The cost of the study is prohibitive for Alsina, who has lost her job. Years of fighting the disease have completely exhausted her financial resources.
