The We Are Near project is not only a help for lonely elderly people, but also a whole range of support aimed at improving their quality of life and creating a favourable environment for them.

Within the framework of the project, volunteers of the Foundation visit lonely elderly people to measure their blood pressure, buy necessary medicines and groceries, clean the house and prepare meals. They create an atmosphere of care and attention around them. Elderly people receive not only concrete help, but also a feeling of warmth and participation, which is so important for their psychological well-being.

Thanks to this collection, the Foundation purchased food packages for lonely elderly people. Also the employees of the Foundation together with volunteers and little helpers organised meetings and picnics for them. In addition to caring for their physical condition, it is also important to pay attention to the social adaptation of the elderly. Organising meetings and picnics allows them to feel part of society, make new friends and get support.

About the campaign

20 lonely elderly people from among the wards of the Foundation need food assistance!

It is very important for lonely older people to feel needed and to see that they are cared for. They need help and attention.

Due to health limitations, older people are unable to look after themselves sufficiently. Their needs range from life-saving food and medicines to everyday chores and communication. Many people find it difficult to walk to the shop or carry heavy groceries, and have difficulty getting around the house.

As part of the "We are there for them" project, volunteers from the Foundation visit them to take their blood pressure, buy the necessary medicines and food, clean the house and prepare meals.

Volunteers do their best to surround the elderly with attention and care, to solve their immediate problems and to provide for their current needs.
