Islam Kartakaev was born eight weeks prematurely.
Because of this, since childhood he has lived with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy, but thanks to the efforts of doctors and parents he walks with support and studies in the 6th grade in the general education program.
Since childhood Islam has severe strabismus. Local doctors told his parents that this problem is related to an underlying disease and cannot be solved.
But recently Islam had a consultation in Moscow, where it turned out that all his eye sight diagnoses can be treated and Islam's eyesight can be corrected.
He underwent staged surgery for that. It will remove strabismus and improve Islam's sight. But at the moment it's not done under the MHI.
Islam's family spends all their money on rehabilitation for cerebral palsy, and they can't afford the surgery now. And the boy needs to undergo the first phase of treatment as soon as possible, while the situation is still fixable.
