Denis' life was not an easy one, because of an accident he fell out of the window of the third floor.
One cold February day the boy was taken to Kaluga Oblast Children Clinical Hospital, where he underwent a CT and MRI scanning and 7 vertebrae injuries were found - 2 of thoracic and 5 of lumbar.
Denis underwent three surgeries, as a result of which an implant was placed instead of one severely damaged thoracic vertebra and a metal construction was installed. He never regained feeling in his legs again.
After the surgeries, surgeons advised the young man to start an uninterrupted rehabilitation period, only then will there be a result.
Denis is a fighter and he fights everyday for his healthy and full life - he learned to dress, put his shoes on, catheterize, get into the wheelchair, crawl forward and backward on all fours and get on the bed by himself. Sensation in Denis' legs began to return. During the last rehabilitation, the doctors put him on a high walker for the first time and he took his first steps.
