In the Ekaterinburg children's home live infants who have been left without parental care. Many of these children were born with severe health conditions that make it difficult for them to breathe on their own. To ensure their breathing is stable and safe, such children require a tracheostomy—a special tube through which air is delivered directly to the lungs, bypassing damaged or narrowed sections of the airway.
Special suction catheters are used to help children with tracheostomies breathe more easily. These are necessary for regular sanitation—the removal of mucus from the tube using a special device. Without this procedure, the tube can become blocked, and the child may begin to suffocate. That is why this support is vital for them every day. The purchased quantity of catheters will be enough for two children for a year.
