Anya from the orphanage needs orthopedic devices to start walking!
Anya lives in a residential care home in Irkutskaya Oblast. The girl uses a wheelchair to get around. The Fond 'Ty emu nuzhen' brought her to Moskva for treatment, to give her a chance to improve her condition and become more independent.
In the summer, Anya underwent a complex orthopedic surgery. After the operation, both her legs were in casts for a long time. Now the casts have been removed, and the girl has started active rehabilitation—gradually strengthening her legs and relearning how to move correctly.
To consolidate the results of the surgery, orthopedic doctors recommended making ankle-foot orthoses and splints for Anya. These will help keep her legs in the correct position during further recovery.
Doctors say that Anya has a chance to start walking independently. It is especially important now to continue rehabilitation and provide the girl with everything she needs for recovery after the surgery.
