5-year-old Maryam has autism spectrum disorder. The girl does not speak, does not understand the addressed speech, there is no visual contact. Maryam also has weak muscles, she walks badly and gets tired quickly. Thanks to classes with an adaptive sports instructor, Maryam mastered the treadmill, learned to jump, play with a ball, ride a scooter and a gyro scooter. After working with a behavioral analyst, Maryam mastered the first stage of requests, using PECS alternative communication cards. I learned to compare identical and non-identical objects and images, shapes and colors, to distinguish motivational stimuli. Work was carried out to improve the behavior of the listener, an index gesture was formed. Now the girl can express her desires, and her parents understand her better, thanks to this, Maryam has become calmer, visual contact has improved, an understanding of the reversed speech has appeared. At the beginning of the rehabilitation course, Maryam showed a decrease in muscle-joint sensitivity and muscle tone. A specialist in sensory integration has selected for her a special set of exercises for all types of perception: tactile, visual, olfactory, vestibular. Thanks to this complex, Maryam learned to swing on a swing, playing "ladushki", independently pass obstacle courses, climb stairs. Sensory integration classes contributed to the improvement of Maryam's interaction with the outside world.

Maryam was born an absolutely healthy child. Up to 1 year and 2 months, she developed by age, responded to the name, had an understanding of speech, a good appetite. Then there was a sharp "rollback" in development. Maryam stopped eating, drank only the mixture, stopped reacting to the name, lost eye contact.

Now Maryam is almost 5 years old. The girl does not speak, does not respond to the name, very strong selectivity in food, does not respond to the name, there are no self-service skills. Maryam walks very badly, weak muscles, gets tired quickly. The girl really needs a rehabilitation course, which includes intensive classes with a behavioral analyst, a specialist in sensory integration and an instructor in adaptive physical culture. In order for Maryam to be able to communicate with people around her and learn to express her desires, an alternative communication system PECS is needed.
