Alisa completed a two-week course of auditory-verbal rehabilitation. This became possible thanks to your help, tubers.
Alisa has cochlear implants behind her ears, which allow her to hear. But in order to develop proper speech, the girl needs regular sessions with specialists.
"Thank you so much to everyone who helped us attend the intensive rehabilitation," says Alisa's mother, Aleksandra. "Such courses are vital for my daughter!"
The sessions made Alisa's speech clearer, and she managed to master difficult sounds like 'l' and 'ts.' The child learned to answer questions and can now compose a short story based on a picture.
"If someone asks her, 'Why is the street wet?', she now answers, 'Because it's raining.' Previously, she would just repeat the question, 'Why?', after the person, and we couldn't explain to her that this was incorrect. At the rehabilitation center, they solved this problem in just a few days! Her understanding of spoken language has also noticeably improved.
After the rehabilitation course, the family brought home a thick album, which they will use for practice throughout the year—both independently and together with a speech therapist.
They have serious plans, because this year Alisa moved from a specialized kindergarten for the hearing-impaired to a mainstream one. She really likes it there: everyone around her is actively talking, and she herself has started to do so with great enthusiasm.
Her mother hopes that the skills reinforced after rehabilitation, new friends at kindergarten, and the active speech environment will all help Alisa to better socialize, improve her speech, and prepare for school. Thank you for supporting Alisa, friends!
