Mahmoud was born with a prematurely closed fontanelle. Because of this, his head elongated backward and became narrower in the temporal region, and his brain was compressed. This posed a risk of health and developmental problems. The doctors performed an endoscopic surgery to open the skull sutures, but the results needed to be consolidated by wearing an orthopedic helmet.
