The fundraising is complete: Anya will be able to have her shunt replaced.

Little Anya Udod will soon feel better — her malfunctioning shunt will be replaced. The entire amount was paid by a single benefactor, a user of the Tooba app.

Anya Udod was born at 27 weeks, weighing only 1460 grams. Soon after, she stopped breathing. A difficult journey began: mechanical ventilation, 19 days in intensive care, transfer to high-frequency ventilation, a pulmonary hemorrhage on the 9th day, and an intraventricular hemorrhage on the 11th. Anya was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and doctors installed a special shunt to help drain fluid from her brain.

After all the procedures, she began to breathe on her own and was discharged. The struggle continued at home: inhalations, injections, examinations. Due to overdrainage, her vision worsened, requiring a shunt replacement, and later, bioplates were implanted in her skull.

Anya is now 5 years old. She can sit, stand with support, is learning to walk, and is saying her first words. This progress has been achieved thanks to ongoing rehabilitation. But a new problem arose — the shunt is malfunctioning again: it doesn't maintain pressure and fails. Constant pressure fluctuations are dangerous, and system failure threatens the girl's life.

Now the threat has receded: the necessary amount for the shunt replacement has been raised. Thank you to everyone who helped Anya and her family.

Little Anya needs to have a device installed in her brain

Anya Udod was born at 27 weeks, weighing just 1,460 grams. The baby cried, but soon stopped breathing. A difficult journey began: mechanical ventilation, 19 days in intensive care, transfer to high-frequency ventilation, pulmonary hemorrhage on the ninth day, and intraventricular hemorrhage on the 11th. The mother was discharged home, leaving her daughter in the hospital.

She was diagnosed with hydrocephalus, and doctors installed a special shunt to help drain fluid from the brain. After all these procedures, Anya began breathing on her own, and she was discharged at the end of April. The struggle continued at home: inhalations, injections, and examinations. Due to hyperdrainage, her vision deteriorated, requiring a shunt replacement in St. Petersburg. Later, bioplates were inserted into the baby's skull.

Anya is now 5 years old. She can sit, stand with support, learn to walk, and speak her first words. This development was achieved thanks to ongoing rehabilitation.

But there's a new problem: the shunt's operation has malfunctioned again. The device can't maintain pressure and keeps fluctuating, even though a special device can temporarily adjust the parameters. However, constant pressure fluctuations are dangerous, and system failure is life-threatening. Anya urgently needs a shunt replacement to prevent a reversal in her development.
