A great joy happened in Ilya's family - thanks to the new verticalizer the boy can stand! Now the positioning of the boy's body will enable him to develop physically; his internal organs will return to their normal position and the spine and hip joints will not be severely stressed. The therapist of our foundation selected an ergotherapy device for Ilya that meets all the requirements of boy's body.

Ilya's mother wrote to us: "Thanks to the standing machine Ilya is now able to stand and develop properly. And what is equally important the apparatus will prevent new contractures. Our family could not afford to buy such expensive equipment. Now the child is happy and we are happy together with him. Thank you so much!"

Ilya needs a vertical leveller in order to develop properly

When Ilya was born, doctors saw a hernia on the baby's back. This is a severe congenital malformation of the spine - spina bifida. Some vertebrae do not close together and the spinal cord forms a hernia. If a baby is diagnosed with a spina bifida hernia, he or she is operated on the first day of life. Unfortunately, everything below the hernia is not felt by the baby. Most often the defect can be seen by ultrasound, but in Ilya's case, we learned about spina bifida in the delivery room. His mother was shocked, she cried: "No, this can't be, my child will get better and stand on his feet.

Mom and Ilya have already gone through a lot: several surgeries, hospital beds, tears and sleepless nights. But it didn't break the family, on the contrary, everyone became stronger in spirit! Ilya has no feeling in his legs. The boy's means of transportation are his small but strong arms. In spite of the difficulties, Ilya is a cheerful smart and cheerful guy. And his favorite pastime is to sing and dance.

Now Ilya is 4 years old, it's time for him to be vertical. The boy himself cannot stand on his feet - there is no support in them. Fortunately, many convenient and safe rehabilitation tools have been invented for this purpose. Ilya is being verticalized, and this posture will help distribute the load on his spine and hips. The heart, blood vessels, and digestive system - all the internal organs - will start working properly. Also the hands are freed and the child can play and look at the world from his or her own height.

The ergotherapist of the fund "Spina bifida" chose for Ilya a comfortable device with big wheels, in which the boy can not only stand, but also move independently, turning the wheels! But this expensive device is too difficult for the family to afford. Ilya's mother turned to us for help.

The fund "Spina Bifida" collects money for Ilya to buy a standing position device. It is impossible to get it from the state under IPRA, as it is not included in the federal list of technical rehabilitation means. Let's help the smiling boy stand and develop properly!
