Amantay is five years old, and in that time, he has already undergone many eye surgeries to treat an advanced stage of retinopathy of prematurity.

Thanks to your kindness and generosity, two more surgeries were recently performed.

First, the doctors conducted a thorough examination of both of the boy’s eyes while he was under anesthesia, and then they placed a special material called "Alloplant" behind each eyeball.

This type of procedure helps support the eyes and preserve the progress that had been achieved previously.

Following the surgery, Amantay remained under medical supervision and received anti-inflammatory treatment. His recovery went smoothly, and he has since been discharged to go home.

This is incredibly important for his family: step by step, they are managing to preserve and maintain the boy’s vision.

Amantay is now back home with his mother. He is out and about again, enjoying his favorite swings.

Amantay needs eye surgery to continue his treatment!

Amanatai was born prematurely — at the 28th week of pregnancy. He has a severe form of retinopathy of prematurity (both eyes are affected). Over his life, the boy has undergone seven eye surgeries — each one helped maintain his eye condition and prepare for further treatment. Now Amanatai is waiting for another surgery: it is necessary to continue the therapy and preserve the results achieved so far.

Amanatai is growing up to be a kind and affectionate child. He loves going for walks and swinging on swings, and he enjoys the attention of his loved ones. He still finds it hard to speak and explain his wishes, which sometimes makes him upset. Unfamiliar places and large crowds are challenging for him, but he feels calm and secure when his mother is nearby.

His mother dreams of her son growing up happy, seeing the world more clearly, and enjoying every day. The family needs help to cover the cost of the upcoming surgery.
