The other day, neurosurgeons operated on five-month-old Medina Uzhakhova and reshaped the baby's skull with special plates. Now the girl will grow and develop as well as her peers.
Medina's skull bones were fused too early. Her brain was so tightly jammed into the shell that her eyes began to squint. Without urgent surgery on the head, which, unfortunately, is not available at the MHI, the baby would have fallen behind in development, intracranial pressure spikes, problems with vision. Now Medina cannot be afraid of all these troubles, because you helped to collect money for the very expensive implants without which the surgery would not have happened.
- I watched the collection every day and worried if we would make it. After surgery Medina was monitored by doctors for 24 hours, and then she was moved to the room with her mother. Postoperative swelling means her eyes still do not open well and face muscles do not obey her, but Marina knows for sure that her daughter will be fine.
A few more days and Medina will return to her charming smile. She is already delighting her mother with a ringing "da-da-da-da-da.
