Rustam is a very active and cheerful little boy—he loves it when things are loud and bright. He likes to touch and feel everything, reaches out for new knowledge and people—he is interested in everything.

Five years ago, he was born severely premature, and even then doctors diagnosed him with developmental disorders. His parents did not decide to take him home, and the boy ended up in an orphanage. Last year, specialists from the foundation organized treatment for him in Moscow. Significant progress is already visible: Rustam now walks confidently with crutches and has learned to speak better.

"Rustam is an incredibly affectionate child," his nanny says. "He loves to hug and can get a bit mischievous if I talk or play with any of the other children."

Rustam is now at an age when it is very important to have a caring, reliable, and most importantly, a 'special' adult nearby. For him, that person has become his nanny. She doesn't just look after Rustam—she sings lullabies and tells him fairy tales, soothes and supports him. This is not just care—it's psychological support, without which successful treatment would be impossible.

There are many children like Rustam under the foundation's care, and each one needs a caring and professional nanny. To ensure that every child gets an adult who can handle them and is a good match in character, the foundation has a head nanny. She knows all the children and selects the very best nanny for each one.

Help pay for the senior nanny who helps Rustam and other orphans

Rustam was born weighing 400 grams. Previously, he could only sit in a wheelchair, but today he's taking his first steps! Doctors believe he'll walk. He's five years old now—the perfect time to build on this success. Recently, Rustam decorated a Christmas tree and made a wish himself for the first time. But his journey has been difficult: after surgery, he spent a month in a cast. It's at times like these that a close adult is especially needed.

The boy is a ward of our foundation, one of the orphans undergoing long-term treatment and rehabilitation at the foundation's Social Center. The senior nanny is a key mentor and organizer at the Center. She trains the nannies, guides the children through difficult procedures, and monitors all test schedules and hospitalizations. For Rustam and the other children, she is a reliable beacon.

Now, like Rustam, many children are undergoing complex treatment. It's here, far from home, that they especially need support. Your donation to the fund supports the work of a senior nanny—an experienced specialist who helps children overcome pain and fear and achieve new victories.
