An upright wheelchair arrived at Dana's house. And almost immediately our foundation's occupational therapist Yulia came to the family to adjust the technical device. Julia told and showed mom how to put Danya in the verticalizer, how to use it. Once again she talked about how much time she recommended the boy to spend in the machine. A week later mom wrote to us: "The hardest part was taking Danya off the upright! He loved standing up so much!"

Dani is diagnosed with spina bifida, which means that he has no support on his legs at all. The boy cannot stand upright on his own. And now, thanks to the verticalizer - it is possible. No matter how you look at it, no one has cancelled the force of gravity, so we all need to take an upright position, so that all the internal organs fall into place, and the load on the spine and hips is distributed properly.

We would like to say many thanks to everyone who participated in collecting for Darja's standing positioner. You made the life of our little boy more comfortable. Now Danja will stand and develop properly!

Dana needs a vertical leveller to develop properly

Dani's diagnosis of spina bifida (cleft spine) came as a "surprise" to everyone. When the boy was born, doctors saw a hernia on his back. The child's condition required immediate surgery. There were a few of these operations, and the baby was discharged from the hospital only two months later.

Danilu is now 2 years 9 months old. In spite of the difficulties he has gone through, he is growing merry, smiling and curious, showing his character. The little one likes to watch cartoons, play, and look at books. Dani does not have sensitivity in his legs, but he was able to learn to sit independently. He loves to ride in his active stroller, it replaces his legs.

Danila needs to be upright for normal development. Standing pose will distribute the load on the spine and hip joints and for the proper functioning of the internal organs. The Spina Bifida Foundation is collecting funds to purchase a special verticalizer for Danila. It is impossible to get it from the state, it is not on the federal list of technical equipment and therefore it is not included in the individual rehabilitation program.
