Rinat is the smilingest guy in the world. He loves to have fun and make everyone around him laugh. He loves all holidays and adores it when guests come. But when he has to go to the hospital, he gets sad. And Rinat has to be in hospitals often. He was born with a diagnosis of spina bifida. Because of this the boy has no feeling in his legs and cannot stand or walk by himself. His mother takes the boy in an ordinary wheelchair now. And he dreams of independence, of being able to decide for himself where and when to go, instead of waiting for his mother to drive him.
Rinat's wish is almost fulfilled: in the near future he will receive an active wheelchair from the state, free of charge under IPRA. But, taking into account his age and lack of previous experience in using an active wheelchair, to move the child safely an additional anti-dumping device is needed, which is not presently available in the wheelchair that Rinat will get.
Also that stroller from the state has a very short handle for the attendant, due to which the mother will have to bend down low. And if a long stay in such a forced position can lead to back pain and the formation of intervertebral hernia. The new height-adjustable companion handles will allow you to adjust the position of the push handles to a comfortable position for mom, which will keep her healthy.
For health reasons, your child needs a pelvic retainer with adjustable tensioning function. Its purpose is to hold the baby's pelvis in the correct position to prevent spinal deformity from worsening.
Without these important components, moving in a stroller for Rinat may not be safe. The family turned to our foundation for help in paying for the extra parts.
Let's help the smiling boy fulfill his dream to rush in his active baby carriage faster than the wind, safely and comfortably!
