The heating season has started in Velikie Luki. In the school where third-grader Misha Rupyshev studies, the radiators are hot, which means dry air. Misha, who suffers from ichthyosis, has problems with his skin. It flakes, hurts and bleeds. Fortunately, our package with medicinal creams and thermal water came on time. Misha always keeps one bottle of water in his briefcase and sprays it on his face at recess. This is how he saves himself.

"We wanted to thank from our family the charity foundation "AiF Good Heart", the mobile app Tooba and all the caring people who helped to purchase medicines for my son. If you only knew - what a treasure it is for us!" - Misha's mother Kristina wrote us and added that they have already used up one tube of DuCray cream, and now they are going to use Uriaj.

The collection was closed on the Tooba platform. As many as 731 people donated to the boy. The stock of preparations is enough for our ward for a full year of life. Thanks to the correct skin care, he will not only be able to go to school in November, but he will also be able to go to the swimming pool, to art school, and to the boxing club.

It will happen after Misha undergoes planned hospitalization in Moscow and rehabilitation in Munich. Kristina is preparing her son for the trip by putting all the essentials - the creams, ointments, and thermal water you bought - into her suitcase.

Misha needs medications to fight a rare skin disease

Misha Rupyshev is an incredibly active and cheerful boy. And his biggest passion is swimming. It’s a pity that in the Pskov region, where he lives, there is neither year-round heat nor the sea. Only a city pool. Unfortunately, due to illness Misha was not allowed to swim there for several years.

Misha has ichthyosis, a rare genetic disease: the old skin cells die, but do not flake off. From the very birth, the child was covered with scales from head to toe. They pricked like a hedgehog's thorns, itched and bled. When it was too bad, Misha had to drink hormones. They planted the liver and immunity, and caused ulcers in the eyes and ears. How could Misha even think about the public pool when he could hardly come out to play on the playground.

Three years ago Misha’s life changed. Thanks to the help of caring people, the Rupyshevs ended up at the University of Munich. There, the boy underwent a comprehensive examination. Doctors prescribed him not only treatment, but also special cosmetics that save people with serious skin diseases. And a miracle happened - the skin became clean, light, even. A month later, Mishka took first place in the swimming competition.

It could be a story with a happy ending. But ichthyosis can’t be cured, and the necessary drugs are not issued by the state and cost a lot of money. Quality of Misha’s life will always depend on the support of caring people.

And today the boy needs us!
