Stas has retinal cancer and an operation was scheduled for 21 June in Lausanne by the famous Professor Mounier. The operation will not only treat the cancer, but it will also help to keep the sight in his right eye. The medical fees have been fully paid, but the costly and time-consuming flights to and from the treatment location can no longer be paid by his parents. Thanks to you the money was collected within 24 hours, and Staszka received the whole planned treatment. By now Stas is feeling well. The doctors report no tumour growth on the examination, which is the first positive result of his treatment with Doctor Muñe. The professor predicts that the vision in his right eye will be restored gradually. Stas has returned to Russia and continues to receive medical treatment. Stas's mother sent us a warm letter thanking each one of you. At the age of four months, Stasik was diagnosed with cancer in both eyes. Stas is now 6 years old and, unfortunately, the cancer has not yet been beaten. One of his eyes can no longer see at all, and the other eye is now being fought for. After his treatment in Russia Stasik was sent to Doctor Francis Munier at the Jules Gonin Eye Centre in Lausanne. His method of treatment saves not only eyes, but also vision, so the Lausanne Eye Clinic is one of the best in the world for treatment of retinoblastoma - cancer of retina, and Dr. Munier is one of the world leading specialists in this field of oncology. Of course, technology for treating eye cancer in Russia is also gradually developing. But so far the situation is such that there are not many organ-sparing operations. It is believed that in order to avoid risks, it is better to remove the eye (or both eyes). Stasik's treatment in Lausanne is fully covered, and help will be needed to pay for the boy's and one of the parents' flight. We are asking for your support.
