Asiyat is a "butterfly", she has epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare genetic disease in which the skin becomes super—vulnerable: the slightest mechanical impact can lead to injury. Such skin does not withstand careless touch, like butterfly wings.
Asiyat has a severe, dystrophic form of the disease, the only way to keep the disease under control is daily bandages. Bandages for EB are like a multi-layered pie made of high-tech special materials, they protect vulnerable skin like armor. Such medical devices are expensive, but they are required constantly and in large quantities.
Every month, Asiat needs at least 96 sterile JELONET bandages, which have an analgesic effect, do not stick to wounds and minimize painful sensations during bandages. Their cost is a significant burden for the girl's family.
