After the fundraiser closed, Melissa's mother, Latifa, wrote to us and thanked everyone who supported their family at the fundraiser: "I want to say thank you to everyone who made their contribution to raising funds to help Melissa. Melissa is feeling well at the moment and is waiting for the treatment to end so that she can go to kindergarten and dance again."

Melissa has a tumor of the nervous system. She needs treatment to defeat the disease!

"Mom, give me a hug," Melissa asks when painful procedures make her feel really bad. Mom hugs. And the strength to fight the disease is gradually returning. Before going to bed, lying in the hospital room, they leaf through family photos together. Here are mom and dad, here are two older brothers and a younger, very small one. The next picture is of Melissa herself. She has long brown hair and has an ear-to-ear smile on her face. Now, due to the treatment, there is no hair, but the smile still remains. She's just as perky and sincere.

Melissa has been fighting neuroblastoma, a highly malignant tumor of the nervous system, for six months. An important stage of treatment awaits her — proton therapy. It is carried out at the Medical Institute named after Sergey Berezin, in which patients can usually receive treatment at the expense of federal quotas allocated for high-tech medical care. However, today the quotas have ended. That's why we're asking for your help.
