The first of TOOBA's Full-Time Certificate Programs, Foundation Year will interest you if:
- you have studied aspects of theatre, dance or circus before, and are wanting a more condensed learning experience.
- Physical Theatre, ensemble creation, or original work are the areas you are drawn to.
- you want a program geared to your individual development as an artist.
- you want to earn our Foundations of Physical Theatre Certificate, or qualify to enter TOOBA's Integration Year in order to receive our Diploma of Physical Theatre Arts.
Foundation Year offers an intense program of study to give participants a solid grounding in physical theatre performance. Some classes are shared with Integration Year or Advanced students, and some classes are open to community members serious about training. This allows for both an experience of ensemble, and an inclusive experience of learning. Participants are asked not to work in theatre or film/tv during the 24 weeks of training in order to give maximum focus to the process of study. Upon completion, students earn TOOBA's Foundations of Physical Theatre Certificate.
