Trilby Jeeves

"Without self consciousness you can go deeper into your state of play and give your concentrated energy to this performance."

Trilby Jeeves is an actor, instructor, and writer from Vancouver, Canada.

Trilby was the first English student to be theatrically trained in her second language for 3 years at Le Conservatoire d'Art Dramatique in Quebec City where she first discovered Le Bouffon under the teachings of Marc Dore (who studied at Lecoq in Paris). She also studied with Jacques Lessard who created the "REPERE" method of creating theatrical work, with Robert Lepage.

As well as performing in over 40 plays in both languages across Canada (Charlottetown, Fredericton, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver), Trilby worked in the film industry for 10 years as a set costumer on a variety of television series and feature films. Trilby also directed the first French presentations of "Les Monologues du Vagin" in 2002 and 2003.

Trilby has taught classes in buffoonery and improvisation throughout schools in British Columbia and P.E.I. and is currently teaching her own popular "Buffoonery Acting Workshop" across Canada. As a writer, Trilby is in the process of developing her own one-woman show.

She also works part time for the Vancouver Film School as an actor for both the writing and directing departments. With her partner Peter D. Marshall, she shares in teaching the "Acting for the Camera" and "Directing the Actor" workshops for actors and filmmakers worldwide.

Trilby is passionate about helping people break through their critical and overworked thoughts to reach the honest depths of instinctive performance. Having been through "Le Bouffon" process, she understands the release of being entirely involved in performance and not being distracted by the million thoughts our minds believe to be important.
